About the Book

Writing the Terrain is the first anthology dedicated solely to the poetry of the Alberta landscape, townscape, cityscape, and countryside from the writers who have travelled the main roads, back roads, and gravel roads of this sprawling province. A wholly unique collection, it presents a series of poetic journeys through Calgary and Edmonton, through the foothills, badlands and national parks, the boreal forests and flat prairies, each with a poet as your guide for a fresh look at what you might just be missing. Writing the Terrain is the truly inspired intersection of literature and landscape from some of Canadaís best writers, including Robert Kroetsch,Leonard Cohen, and George Bowering.

Some of the poems included in this collection have not been reproduced in their entirety.
