3.7. Numbers
In general, spell out all whole
numbers less than 100. However, at the beginning of a sentence, all numbers are
to be written out. Numbers that include decimal points are normally written in
figures. In monetary contexts, if the number is written out in full, so is the
unit of currency, e.g., "twenty-five cents," but "$2.5 million."
